How to Disable Sleep Mode on Windows 10 and 11
Follow these steps to prevent your computer from entering sleep mode, which can interrupt critical operations like running a Validator Node (staking). The process is similar for both Windows 10 and 11.
Steps for Windows 10 and 11
Open Settings:
- Press
Windows + I
to open the Settings window.
- Press
Search for Power Settings:
- Windows 10: In the Settings search bar, type Power & Sleep.
- Windows 11: In the Settings search bar, type Power & Battery.
- Select the appropriate option from the search results.
Change Sleep Mode Settings:
- For Windows 10: Under Sleep, set the drop-down options to Never for both On battery power and When plugged in.
- For Windows 11: Under Screen and Sleep, set On battery power, put my device to sleep after, and When plugged in, put my device to sleep after to Never.
- For Windows 10: Under Sleep, set the drop-down options to Never for both On battery power and When plugged in.
Save and Exit:
- Close the Settings window to apply your changes.
Additional Tips
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): Adding a UPS to your setup provides backup power during outages, giving you time to manage your system and prevent interruptions.
