Applies to: All versions of Divi Desktop
Updated: September 2025
Why This Matters
Your seed phrase is your wallet. If you lose it, you lose access to your coins.
There is no recovery without it — no customer support, no reset button.
You are the custodian. Back it up.
✅ How to Back Up Your Seed
You can back up your seed phrase anytime after wallet creation.
Steps:
Open Divi Desktop
Navigate to
Settings → Security
Click the red
Backup
button (titled: "Backup seed"
)A window titled “Recovery Phrase” will appear:
“Recovery Phrase is a backup key to your coins. With it you can easily recover your wallet on another PC.
You must write this Recovery Phrase down and keep it safe or you'll lose access to your coins!”Your 24-word recovery phrase will now be shown. *12-word recovery phrase if migrated from Divi Wallet.
✅ How to Store It Safely
We don’t tell you what to write it on — we tell you how to think smartly about a backup:
Your storage method must have:
✔ Persistence (permanent: doesn’t fade, erase, or corrupt)
✔ Restrict access (no one else can find or steal it)
✔ Be retrievable (you can get it when needed, without guessing)
❌ DO NOT ❌:
✖ Take a screenshot or photo
✖ Save it in cloud storage, email, or messaging apps
✖ Store it in plaintext on your device
✖ Paste it into a browser
✖ Post-it Note it.
*READ "How to Store It Safely." Make a good choice!
✅ Confirm & Finish
✔ Triple-check spelling and word order
✔ Click Next
to confirm by re-entering all 24 words in order
✔ Once accepted, you’re done
✔ Return to the main screen by clicking the Overview icon (top-left)

Final Reminder
Satoshi didn’t just give us decentralized money — he gave us autonomy and sovereignty over our assets.
That comes with power, but also with permanent responsibility.
There is no recovery mechanism. No support ticket. No one else can access your wallet — and that includes you, if you lose your seed.
Back it up right, store it smart, and stay in control.
* If you migrated from the legacy Divi Wallet (Mobile) using one of TheVoice’s recovery tutorials, your recovery phrase will be 12 words
