"Staking is ready, app restart is required" Pop-Up

If you’ve encountered the "Staking is ready, app restart is required" notification while running your Divi Desktop Application as an always-on, hot Staking Validator, here’s what you need to know.

This pop-up stems from a legacy piece of code in Divi Desktop—a leftover from the masternode era of the Divi Blockchain. Back then, the code served to monitor the masternode sync status. However, masternodes are no longer part of the current blockchain system, rendering this check irrelevant and the pop-up misleading.

What Does It Mean for Solo Staking Validators?

Simply put, this message is a display bug. It’s inaccurate and doesn’t reflect the current functionality of your Validator or the blockchain. Whether the pop-up appears or not, it has no impact on your staking or validator performance.

How Should You Handle It?

  1. Close the Notification: Click the "X" to dismiss the pop-up. It has no bearing on your Validator’s operation.

  2. Check the Staking Slider: The status of your staking is best indicated by the slider’s color:

    • Green: Active and staking. (good)

    • Orange: Active - might be warming up or recently mined a block (good)

    • Red: Active - fully unlocked; do not leave in this status unsupervised, spending possible. (temp only)

    • Black Triangle: The wallet is not encrypted. Set a password for your wallet. (bad)

What’s Next?

Good news—this visual bug is slated for removal in an upcoming release from the desktop development team to ensure as part of the ongoing improvements to the application.
